Forex Robot Cooks Hard Drive…

Forex Robot Fries Hard Drive

This is the computer I’m writing this article on…

See that hole on the left side? That’s where the hard drive is supposed to go… and that silver box like thing is the fried hard drive… and what’s on the screen is this article…

Here’s what happened…

Remember the forex robot I told you I was working on…

Well last week I finally got it running 90% on its own…

So from Tuesday to Friday I left it to trade…

Here’s how it did:

Tuesday: 211 pips ($211 on a mini contract)
Wednesday: 586 pips ($586 on a mini contract)
Thursday: 38 pips ($38 on a mini contract)

Friday: ZAP!!!

That’s right… I got up Friday morning, and the computer was just sitting there, with a big ‘E’ on the screen…

I thought that meant error, but it was actually the logo for the laptop…

I tried and tried to start it up, but no luck…

At first I wasn’t too worried, because I’d learned my lesson and been good about backing up my important stuff…

Then it hit me… I hadn’t backed up the robot, as it was still a work in progress…

Beads of sweat started to form on my forehead as I tried to think of a way to salvage the progress I’ made…

I decided it was best for me to leave it (rather than make things worse)…

Instead I called a friend who knew a lot more about computers to see what they could do…

So on Saturday my computer buddy comes by and within minutes – works his magic…

He uses some magic CD to get the computer up and running, grabs the robot, and removes the defunct hard drive…

Now that was awesome…

But what’s really cool is how he goes on to set up my computer to be fully functional WITHOUT A HARD DRIVE! (Thus my ability to use it to get this article up!)

Any way… many thanks to Ed for his help!

And a reminder to you to be making regular backups of your important information!

If you remember I had a hard drive crash earlier this year… so at least I learned from that lesson.

Continued Success! And Happy Holidays!
Ray
